Biography

Michael Ulrich holds a full professorship in orthopedic surgery at the Department of Orthopaedics, Aalborg University Hospital, Denmark.

Michael Ulrich undertakes complex surgical procedures of the hip joint at the level of an expert and he has a special interest in treatment of active patients with joint salvage procedures such as treatment of hip dysplasia with PAO / Ganz osteotomies. Furthermore, professor Ulrich has experience with all kinds of basic hip arthroplasty, hip resurfacing and neck-preserving surgery, and all kinds of revision-surgery of hip prostheses.

Throughout the years, Michael Ulrich has maintained an academic profile including both teaching and research. Professor Michael Ulrich is the leader of the Department of Orthopaedic at Aalborg University Hospital and he is in charge of the education of the medical students in Orthopedics at the University of Aalborg.

In addition, Professor Michael Ulrich still an active and dedicated teacher at both pre- and post-graduate courses and scientific supervisor for Ph.D.-students.
Furthermore, Michael Ulrich possesses numerous committee assignments and administrative services at national board level.

Michael Ulrich has an active international network consisting of leading orthopaedic surgeons and scientists in Europe, Canada and USA. Furthermore, he is boardmember and elected member for various national and international surgical societies.
